Prep
Both hands should be cleaned thoroughly. The first time you touch the headlight should be to clean it. Use water and a lint-free towel to clean the light, clean the lens until the surface is clear of any dirt and dust. Prepare a spray bottle using 50% 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol to 50% Water and mix them together. This is an extremely important step, any Grease, wax, tar and dirt left on the Headlight will be stuck under the headlight film after install and will prevent Dragon Laminates from sticking Properly. Use Clay Bar instead of the water/alcohol solution mix if temperature is below 70 degrees F.
If you have to clean the lens heavily, use a Head light Restoration kit to remove any haziness and pitting that can cause air bubbles.
Installation
After the Light lens is cleaned thoroughly, you can begin your install. Remove the clear backing off the adhesive side of the Dragon Laminates film. Mist the lens with a small amount of water as well as the sticky side of the Laminate. This will allow the film to reposition easier during installation. Any contact with the adhesive should be kept to a minimal to prevent dirt and finger prints, fingers should always be kept wet while handling.
Start on the flattest part on the light and work toward the more difficult curved areas. Lightly tack the Dragon Laminates film to the lens and reposition as needed using water in-between pulling up.
After the Dragon Laminates film is lightly tacked to the surface of the lens and the positioning is correct, you are ready to squeegee the Laminate down. Mist the top surface of the Laminate with water to create a lubrication layer for the squeegee applicator to glide over. Start from the middle of the flattest part of the light and use smooth, sweeping strokes. Slowly work your way to the edges of the film, making sure to push out all water and air toward the edges. Use a Hair Dryer or Heat Gun to heat the film in difficult areas. The heat will help the Laminate in Curved/ Difficult areas making it more pliable for use.
After the headlight tint has been installed to the edges of the light, it is time to pull the clear protective layer and trim. The laminate comes with a protection layer that protects the laminate during installation from scratching
Trimming should be done in two steps: Excess removal and final trim.
Excess removal involves trimming off the large excess pieces of the install. The final trim is most important: score the film along the edge of the headlight. Pull away the Laminate away carefully.
